Kaon ta! Pork and Beans Pasta with Tomato Basil Sauce
"Kaon ta" an expression of invitation to come eat with the person who said it. The closest it can get to being translated to English would be "Hey, c'mon, let's eat!". While having dinner one stormy evening, my friends dropped by our apartment and I immediately blurted out "Kaon ta!" without realizing I only cooked for two that evening! I hurriedly went to the kitchen to look for ingredients I can use and cook something for my friends. And I came up with this:
Ingredients:
250 gm Penne
500 gm red tomatoes, diced
2 cloves garlic
1 whole white onion, chopped
Ground Black Pepper
Fresh Basil chopped
Dried Oregano
1 can Spanish Sardines
250 gm Hunt's Pork and Beans
3 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt to taste
Parmesan cheese
How To:
1. Heat pan and add olive oil.
2. Saute garlic and chopped onions.
3. Next is diced tomatoes, simmer for 2 -3 minutes.
4. Add pork and beans.
5. Add oregano, basil, and salt.
6. Add cooked pasta in pan, and stir.
7. Add parmesan cheese and serve.
